Shivta:

Not finding a place.  To stumbling on this place.

No vacancies or just losing a place, we left the house early one Shabbat and drove a little more than 2 hours south.  It was pouring down with rain in Tel Aviv.  It kept raining hard as we left Tel Aviv.  Afraid of floods, we decided if it continues to rain in Beer Sheva we will have to turn back and not see our son.
The way was green as if we were driving up north.  Hard to believe in just a few weeks this would be all dry and desert.

We finally picked up Oren.  It looked bleak.  It was cold and a bitter cold wind kept us from leaving the car.   We thought of checking out this historical site nearby, looking for a wind-protected shelter for possibly a picnic.
As it turned out the family who took all 3 rooms here were leaving and let us sit in their terrace. There was gas to heat the goulash soup and herbs for tea.  A hammock to lay on and more importantly shelter from the cold wind.   The fireplace was further away, situated in an open space, probably for star gazing, but right now too cold as it was outside the protected alcove.   So reluctantly, we forgo the fire and left the logs in the car.  Hanging around for a few hours. Easy relaxing time, falling into slumber on the hammock.  A few tours buses came by, sat and made noise at the dining area behind the room.  Our corner was not only a cosy shelter from the wind but also, it seems a welcome refuge from tourists and the bustle of civilization.
