Room with a View 2

Tsfat February 2016

Long train ride, then even longer bus ride to arrive tired, late  and at night. Pissed I missed the sunset and only caught glimpses of the red streaks across the sky through the back of the bus's window.
Arriving what seemed to be in the the middle of the night, shops closed and air bitingly chiller than I'd expected.  Finally found a public toilet after a 3+ hour bus drive, Water dripping and no door to the toilet.  "Screw this"  I thought and unloaded my backpack, dragged the fallen door to the toilet cubicle. Propped it against the opening and prayed no-one would come in.

Walking through winding stairs and narrow cobblestone alleys I landed on a street when google map proudly declared "You have arrived"  I looked around, "Arrived  where?"  I said aloud and to no-one. Nothing seemed familiar to the photo I was sent.  A woman giggled at my monologue, I asked her where was I, turns out she was the landlady of the place and directed me to a little wood cabin tucked up and away from the street.  With a view only birds soar to.  Truly a wooden tree-house on top of the world.  Thank-you Naama.

A place, each time I return, I thank the opportunity to taste a life that could have been mine.
